The year I reached a milestone birthday was also the year I lost my mother to the pandemic in 2021. I had been planning the next chapter of my life when she was abruptly taken – far too soon. Left with a profound void and an overwhelming wave of grief, I searched for support and found solace in the Motherless Daughters Ministry. Mary Ellen and the women I’ve met since have become the tribe I didn’t know I needed. Their presence has helped me navigate heartbreak while honoring my mother’s memory. Our stories are each unique yet our shared loss binds us in meaningful ways. I hope to continue serving in the ministry, connecting with other daughters and walking together on this journey of healing and hope.
