I lost my mother, Bala, to suicide when I was a toddler. I don’t have any memories or keepsakes of hers to hold on to. My life has been shaped by tragedy, but also by purpose. I began my career as a Teach For India fellow, committed to impact.
Through an online quest, I found the term Motherless Daughter and consequently Mary Ellen and Danyetta. Today, I’m a group leader in the Ministry.
The search for a community that was accessible and contextual for my country, India, led me to start the first of its kind. Rooted in 30+ years of lived experience, cultural context, evolving knowledge, *For My Mom* exists to honor all mothers taken too soon and serve daughters who seek belonging and healing.
